Demons

Partially based on a myth

In mythology, the word demon describes many different types of monsters, usually extremely spontaneous and evil. The word demon was created in the greek language, it meant "divine power" and carried no negative aspects. Latter, in European religions and the Abrahamic traditions, demon took on the meaning of an evil spirit that would control peoples bodies and would call for an exorcism to remove it. Other records like the Jewish and Christian demonology note that demons can be summoned and controlled. Records from Egypt show demons as fulfilling the tasks of angels depicted in other religions and are shown to not be inherently evil. Demons in dungeons and dragons are not spirits but instead horrific abominations created from an infinite plane of chaos and evil. Because of this, there are no true forms to demons due to there chaotic nature. They serve no one except the most powerful among their own race. They have no order and fling themselves mindlessly into battle.
