Stirge

Mostly based on folklore

Stirges are most likely based on the urban legend made in the Michigan upper peninsula known as the Chisquito. The Chisquito is a bloated mosquito the size of a chicken, it has four leathery wings and chicken feathers lining its neck. They would latch onto people in and nearby swamps and drink mass amounts of blood. The word Stirge translates from french to "Skin Flap", or "Sucking bird". In d&d, Stirges share the same description as Chisquitos but are much weaker. There is sadly no art of the Chisquito, but if you go to any Michigan upper peninsula tourist trap or rest-stop, you can have it described to you by the locals.
