Shadow

Many depictions of shadow creatures exist, though one of the more well known monsters is Peter Pan's shadow. It is described to have the same outline as Peter, but it is completely grey with no features. As long as it exists, Peter appears to not have a shadow of his own when light is cast on him. This is said to be a metaphor for him not being able to grasp maturity, and not having a dark side to his personality. In d&d, shadows are born from hiding dark and mature feelings deep down and not addressing them (similarly to peter pan). They are described as pitch black exaggerations of their creators. They drain the strength of their victims and steal their shadow.
