Peryton

Perytons originate in Roman mythology where they are described as hawks the size of humans with the head of a stag and six prong antlers, their shadows are the same as a medium sized humanoid. In d&d, Perytons have the same appearance, though they have an origin story. Where a woman performed a dark ritual to win over her true love by eating her beautiful sisters heart, she was killed for her crimes and her corpse was transformed into the first Peryton, to reproduce by performing the same ritual. There is unfortunately no art of the roman Perytons.
