Oni
Mostly based on myth
Oni myths were first conceptualized in Japan during the 10th century. The word Oni means "to hide or conceal". Other translations are "bogeyman" and "big brother". Oni are described to be large ogre like monsters with skin pigments covering the full color spectrum. They have sharp tusk like teeth and claws, as well as one or two horns on their forehead. They carry club like iron weapons called kanabo. Oni folklore describes them as coming from the gates of hell and are meant to scare children into not staying up late or wander away from home, or the Oni will eat you. In d&d, Onis are apart of the giant species, instead of coming hell, and carry massive glaives instead of iron clubs.
