A Kraken and it's minions attacking a waterborne caravan by Grzegorz Rotkoski
Kraken
Kraken
The word Kraken in Norwegian and Swedish means "crook" or "crank". The monster was first described in the unrealistic natural history book Konungs skuggsjá made in 1250, where it was described with many of the characteristics of a giant squid and a large crab, though it was said it could not reproduce and that there was only two in existence. In d&d, Krakens are able to reproduce and have an appearance of being a mixture of it's early crustacean descriptions and later squid-like appearance. Some of these krakens are even able to give their followers magical abilities.
