Gracklstugh, the Duergars city of blades
Duergar
Duergar
Loosely based on a myth
The myth of Duergar was created in 1889 , but gained popularity in 1944 by F. Grice in the book "Tales of the North Country". They were described as evil, ugly stout people wearing bits of cloth, moss, and lichen, people also called them Bogles and most commonly, Simonside Dwarfs. The word Duergar comes from the norse word "Dvergar" which had the same meaning. No images of these early myths of Duergar were found. There modern depictions are of light purple skinned stout folk with cloudy white beards and grey eyes.
