Roc
Loosely based on mythology
Rocs stem from Arabian folklore in the 1300's. They are described as birds of prey big enough to pick up animals like deer and elephants. The myth comes from the very real ability of eagles being able to pick up prey three times its size. In d&d, Rocs were created by Annam, the god of giants. They where born to serve as arial defense and mounts for giants when they were battling dragons. Rocs have two-hundred foot wingspans on average, their feathers are blue, red, purple and white, while there beaks and eyes are a yellow-orange color. There feet have three red talons outstretched into equilateral triangles to pick up large prey
